Nigel on turning ideas into physical products at Foundrry

Nigel built Foundrry to take ideas from concept to something customers can hold. Within Vergence, that capability can support brands across the entire group.

By Nigel, Foundrry

Foundrry exists for the moment when an idea has to become real. A brand may begin with a sketch, a formula or a product concept, but turning it into packaging, signage, clothing or a finished physical product requires a very different kind of problem solving.

It’s pretty cool going on a buying trip to China knowing you have a whole group of other members you could be buying for. It changes how you see things!

Nigel, Foundrry

We built the business to bring those capabilities together. Our job is to understand what the customer is trying to create, then shape the materials, production and presentation around that goal.

Joining Vergence Consolidated Merchants makes that capability part of a much larger ecosystem. Consumer brands need packaging. Hospitality businesses need signage and merchandise. Health companies need bottles, labels and production support. Foundrry can help businesses across the group move from idea to market faster and with greater consistency.

I see Vergence as a giant filter. It gives me a way to find great suppliers from within the group, with the confidence that the people behind them share our standards and long-term interests. There is something powerful about knowing that when we spend within the network, the dollar stays in the family. Every move we make together has the potential to strengthen us all and build shared value toward a future listing.

That changes how I look at opportunities too. A buying trip is no longer only about what might work for Foundrry; it is a chance to spot products, suppliers and ideas that could create value across the whole group.

The structure gave me value upfront while keeping me invested in what we are building together. I continue to lead Foundrry, but now every improvement we make can benefit dozens of complementary businesses.

That is what excites me most: not simply making more products, but helping more founders turn ambitious ideas into something tangible.
