Our story
A better answer to the founder's dilemma.
Vergence Consolidated Merchants was built for owners who've created something valuable — and want a way to be rewarded for it without giving it up.
The problem
Build for years. Then face an impossible choice.
Every successful business owner eventually reaches the same fork in the road. Keep grinding alone against a ceiling — limited by your own time, capital and connections. Or sell, hand over the keys, and watch someone else run the thing you spent years building.
Neither option is good. One caps your growth. The other cuts your ties. Both leave enormous value on the table.
Vergence exists to offer a third path: a liquidity event, without the exit.
What we believe
Three convictions behind the model
Most founders are trapped by their own success
A profitable business is hard to sell without losing what makes it special — and harder still to grow beyond a ceiling set by one owner's time, capital and network. Great operators end up stuck.
Scale should be shared, not surrendered
The traditional answer is to sell and leave. We think that's backwards. Founders should be able to unlock value and gain scale while staying in the business they love.
A group grows faster than the sum of its parts
When dozens of businesses share capital, customers, expertise and infrastructure, growth that used to take years happens in months — and every owner shares in the upside of the whole.
The horizon
A path to liquidity, sector by sector.
Vergence's plan doesn't stop at group-level growth. As each sector reaches the scale and track record public markets look for, our intention is to pursue a listing for that sector — giving its businesses, and their founders, a real path to public-market liquidity, potentially years before the wider Vergence Group itself lists.
Exact timing depends on market conditions and each sector's performance, and no listing is guaranteed — but it's the direction every business joining Vergence is growing toward.
The idea
Consolidated merchants, not a private equity roll-up.
Vergence brings proven businesses together under one roof. Owners receive a healthy cash payment upfront — not a deferred note — plus equity in something far larger, more diversified and more resilient than any single company could be on its own.
We're not here to strip costs and flip businesses. We're here to back the people who built them — giving every founder the capital, community and infrastructure to grow faster, together.
